Dear Nanna,

I am planning a trip to Iceland in July but I really hate other tourists. They’re like loud, photo snapping lemmings! Any advice for a Nordic music loving foodie like me who might want to stay away from all that touristy stuff but still get an authentic feel for your beautiful country? I’m especially keen on the art and fashion scene.

Best,

Sigur Rócks

Dear Sigur Rócks,

You are a Nordic music loving foodie? Wow, that’s incredible. At first I was like, whoa, this can’t be right, someone who is into Nordic music and art is interested in visiting Iceland? That’s unbelievable.

Then I was like, OK Nanna, better play it cool, we don’t want to scare off the authentic music loving artsy guy who isn’t interested in touristy stuff, we’ve all waited so long for someone like you to visit us.

Thank you for emailing me, wow. I’m so honoured.

Nanna

Dear Nanna,

When is the best time to see the Northern Lights?

Thanks,

Aurora

Dear Aurora,

The best time to see the Northern Lights is when it’s dark. Someplace outside-ish.

Hope you enjoy the show,

Nanna

P.S – I see what you did there with the pen name, cute.

Dear Nanna,

I’m planning to propose to my partner when we visit Iceland later this month. I’d really love to ask her while flying over the Holuhraun volcanic eruption. What’s the best way to see it? I was thinking of maybe renting a helicopter – is that possible?

Best,

Fingers Crossed

Dear Fingers Crossed,

Oh man, did you not hear? The eruption is over…

Not that I’m some romance expert, but you seem like you really like her and she’s agreed to come on this trip with you so she probably likes you back.

I’m pretty sure it won’t matter where you ask her, if she wants to marry you she’ll say yes and if not then a volcano probably won’t make a difference.

Good luck!

Nanna
